Week Three - Task #13. “The Forgotten Ones”

You walk among them. Each once had a story, a voice and a face. Now they rest beneath silence. Not peaceful, just forgotten.
Squatting by a crumbling marker, you brush off a bit of moss. The name is barely legible, carved long ago by hands now gone.
You say it aloud.
Nothing happens… and yet, maybe something does? The air vibrates.
You keep going, reading names. Whispering them. Giving back what time tried to erase.
Behind you, pumpkins begin to sparkle on a lower branch, faintly awakening. It continues to dawn on you that memory is a kind of magic, while forgetting is a second death.
You exhale one more name and then take your leave.
