You crest the final ridge, and there it is! An ice covered valley reflecting the sky in perfect symmetry. Every Snowbeast you’ve met is gathered there. All forming great spirals that mirror the aurora above.
At the center stands Orla, her cloak glittering. She smiles as you approach. “You found them all.”
“I had help,” you say, glancing at Finn, who’s already chasing the snowballs being thrown by owlcats.
The aurora overhead flicker once more. Orla raises her hands, but before she can speak, the map-sphere lifts from your palms. It hovers in the air, glowing brighter and brighter until its light merges with the aurora itself.
A deep, resonant hum fills the air. The sound of all the Snowbeasts singing as one. The valley glows from within, the light spreading outward until it touches every horizon.
For a moment, winter goes completely still.
Then the colors burst across the sky. Blue, gold, silver, green, purple. Pouring like rivers of living light, the Heart of Winter beats steady again.
Orla’s voice is soft beside you. “It isn’t only the beasts who needed guidance. The season itself had forgotten its rhythm.”
You watch the sky until your eyes blur. The Snowbeasts begin to move. As their spiral turning outward, the world’s balance restored.
Finn sits beside you, tail flicking in quiet wonder. “So what now?” he asks.
The aurora dances above, unbroken and alive with color.
“Now,” you smile, “we go home.”
