Week Two - Task #07. "Library Lore"

Bridgeton’s public library smells like dust and lemon polish. You’re here to track an incident involving books muttering to patrons.

It’s subtle, just murmurs.

You sit among the shelves trying to make out anything specific. The room goes silent. Then one volume slips from the shelf and lands at your feet.

It opens itself.

Inside is a message written in magical ink: “I see you. But do you see me?”

You haven’t spotted anyone else in the building, save for the librarian. You check the log. The book hasn’t been checked out in ten years, but a message has been left. Apparently for you.

Task:
Create and post below a new Book Cover for any real or made up book of your choosing that one might find in a Muggle library. Please include a brief description of the image along with any relevant info such as title and author (and perhaps the general topic of the book if otherwise unclear). Remember that all imagery posted directly to the forum must be no larger than 600x600 pixels.

Alternatively you can Describe your book cover in 100 words or more for full credit. For books of your own invention, this could also include a bit more information describing its contents, not just the cover itself. 15 beans/sapphires are available for this task, with an extra 15 for completing all Week Two tasks by end of activity.

The book is part of a Muggle Steampunk series, which I find utterly fascinating. The cream-colored cover has both the name and title, and depicts a clockwork girl standing by a mash-up of Steampunk style clocks. The princess/girl is 'crowned' with gears and gadgets.

Book cover for Pegasus and the Flame by Kate O’Hearn. The design features a parchment-style background with a Greek key border at the top and bottom. At the centre stands a stylised illustration of Hestia, the Greek goddess of the hearth and sacred flame. She is depicted in a flowing red robe with a white veil draped over her head and shoulders. Her expression is calm and steady, and in her raised right hand she holds a bright, glowing flame, symbolising her eternal fire. The title is displayed above her, while the author’s name appears at the bottom.

This is a book cover for the Muggle book If I Stay by Gayle Forman. The left side is meant to represent choosing life, where music can be enjoyed, and it's light blue, compared to the right side, which is intended to represent choosing death, where the light is waiting, and it's gray. A silhouette of a girl is in the middle, fading into nothingness on the gray side, further representing death.
