  • Ravenclaw Newsletter - March 2024
  • Welcome to March, Eagles! Spring has almost sprung, we are now well into the second term of the year, and HOL is buzzing with activities for all to take part in.

The Library Department has a new, brightly colored story prompt for budding writers to submit to (with a deadline of April 1st) - or, if the Art Department is more your speed, take a look through the submissions for their 'Soaring Dragon' prompt and feel free to share your thoughts!

Over on the main HOL forums, the Book Club are running their own event, The Whole Nine Yards - join in the fun by solving some sudokus and/or adding on to the discussions about the featured authors! And for those suffering with post-HOwLer issue FOMO, fear not, as submissions are open for the next edition - and this time it's all about letters and parcels.

Another month means another book featured in the Light Reading activity over in the Gryffindor common room, with this month being the time for 'A Guide To Self-Protection' to take the spotlight, so stop by to learn some crucial defense skills.

The Badgers around the Sett have also got a new load of fun challenges for the month - the Musical Wizards are spotlighting Nelly Furtado, the Creative Club have new jigsaws and coloring pages ready to be completed, the Wonders of the World activity is highlighting a series of Irish breeds in honor of St. Patricks' Day, and the Department of Huffle Games and Sports have three new puzzle challenges ready and waiting to be solved - so make sure you take a look, as there's something for everyone!

Slytherin's monthly activities have also been updated - their Creative Club prompts are waiting patiently for you to try your hand at them, the Puzzle Corner has a new jigsaw, sudoku and fallen letters puzzle to be solved, and the Arcade Club are spotlighting the video game 'Shards,' so if any of those sound appealing, make sure you stop by!

And of course, there's plenty for you to enjoy without even flying out of the Roost - the Blurred Brained forum has plenty of creative prompts and puzzles for you to try your hand at, and the updated E=MC Hammer pop culture nook has new TV, book and music recommendations, for any of you who may want to try something new for the new season. Most important, March is our Ravenclaw Pride Month, and as always, we have the brand-new, castle-wide Dueling Club activity up and running to commemorate the occasion - definitely a chance to earn beans and sapphires that no one should miss out on!

That's all for now, Eagles, have an im-peck-able start to your Spring!
